Ideas to serve with the Apple Pork Chops for dinner

This recipe is full of flavor so we like to serve it alongside simple sides like roasted sweet potatoes and veggies such as green beans, roasted cabbage steaks, or sauteed carrots

What is a safe temperature to serve pork at?

According to the USDA, the safe internal temperature for pork is 145 degrees F.  This will make the pork a “medium-rare” temperature, so if you’d like to cook it longer you can. The easiest way to know if your pork is cooked to the right temperature is to use a meat thermometer. You can find our favorite thermometers linked here

Can I use Bone-in pork chops for this recipe?

This recipe calls for boneless pork loin chops, but if you prefer you can substitute for Bone-in chops. However, keep in mind that the cooking time will vary for bone-in pork chops, and will need to cook them longer than this recipe says. This photo highlights our America Cut Chops, it’s a 1 1/4 boneless chop.

Ingredients to make Apple Glazed Pork Chops

Ingredients for Apple Glazed Pork Chops

Boneless pork chops – The chops should ideally be 1.5 inches thick. Consistent size and thickness will help the pork chops cook evenly.

Flour – By coating the pork chops in flour, the pork chops will create a beautiful crust that is caramelized and golden brown. The flour will also serve as a thickener for the sauce the pork is cooked in.

Butter – Butter is used as the cooking oil, or if you prefer you can use olive oil.

Onion – One diced yellow onion.

Apples- For this recipe, you will need tart apples, such as Braeburn, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith apple. Peel and dice the apples into 1/2 inch chunks.

Rosemary- Fresh, minced rosemary is recommended, but you can also use dried rosemary instead.

Honey – The honey adds a bit of sweetness to the sauce.

Chicken broth – The chicken broth is used as the base of the sauce. Or, use bone broth for added nutrients! Make your own here.

Heavy cream – Adding a couple of tablespoons of heavy cream in this recipe adds a creaminess to the sauce.

Salt and black pepper – to season. Regular or kosher salt works great!
